In one electric moment, Willie "Pops" Stargell, the charismatic head of the Pirates family, gave baseballdom a historic Great Moment. His seventh-game home run against the Orioles in the 1979 World Series gave the Pirates their fifth world championship; they had trailed the Orioles three games to one. Willie was the Series MVP. He hit .400, with a record seven extra-base hits and tied Reggie Jackson's record for total bases with 255. In one World Series Willie Stargell became a legend. Inducted into the Hall of Fame 1988
