Ted Williams Signed Baseball
Limited Edition 645/1941
This is why we love Ted Williams!!
Going into the final day of the 1941 season, Williams' batting average was .3995, which MLB would have rounded up to .400. But by playing the final day of the season (double header), he risked losing the milestone. A poor performance could have easily dropped his average below .400. Most players would have sat out and been satisfied with the incredible feat - but not Teddy Ballgame! He played both games of the double header going 6 for 8 and finishing the season with a .406 avg.! Ted famously said “If I'm going to be a .400 hitter, I want more than my toenails on the line”. He is the last batter to hit .400 in a season... Absolutely Incredible!
