Roy Campanella Single Signed Baseball
PSA & JSA
A vintage Roy Campanella single signed baseball is one of the most elusive baseballs in the entire hobby! Boldly signed and inscribed “Best Wishes”, this is an early 1950’s, pre-accident style signature. These relics seldom hit the market making them a must-have for any serious baseball collector!
Although he may not have received as much star attention as Dodger teammate Jackie Robinson, Campy was certainly among the most popular "Boys of Summer”. The Hall of Fame catcher was a 3x National League MVP (1951, 1953, 1955) and, of course, a World Series Champion in 1955. Quite frankly, he's the greatest catcher to ever live!
Unfortunately, in 1958, Campanella was involved in a tragic car accident that ended his promising career after just 10 seasons. Autograph collecting was not a commercialized hobby at this point, and while Campy was an accommodating signer, his window of time - just a 10-year playing career - was obviously shorted. Just a few single-signed baseballs are actually known to exist from his playing days, and each demands serious value!
