Rare Roger Maris 61st Home Run Original 1961 Yankee Stadium Ticket. PSA 2 (MK)
Roger Maris 61st Home Run Ticket
On October 1, 1961, Roger Maris became Major League Baseball’s single season Home Run King when he hit his 61st round tripper off Tracy Stallard in the fourth inning of a game between the Yankees and the Red Sox. Babe Ruth’s previous record of 60 HR’s stood for 34 years, and many assumed/hoped it would never be broken… that’s just how special and beloved Ruth was!
Offered here is an original ticket stub from that special game in 1961 when Maris broke the record! It remains in good condition and is completely intact, just some minor paper wear consistent with its age. The original attendee also noted the date on the 1-0 score on the ticket. Original ticket collecting has seen a major surge in the last few years, and according to PSA’s population report, there are only 65 tickets from Maris’s 61st HR known to exist today. It certainly is scarce, and the perfect piece for any baseball purist!
