Rare Muhammad Ali Signed 8x10 Photo, Vintage 1960's Autograph. JSA
Vintage 1960's Ali Autograph!
Featured here is a gorgeous 8x10 photo signed by Muhammad Ali in the 1960’s! These early style signatures are significantly rare, especially when compared to the autographs Ali signed later in life. When this was signed, Ali was climbing the ranks in the boxing world, and had just changed his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali when he converted to Islam in 1964. This is certainly one of the earliest Ali signatures we have ever owned.
We love the large looping style of this early autograph, and we always recommend "playing days" signatures, especially when collecting Ali. Sadly, in his later years the effects of Parkinson’s Disease drastically changed his signature style. You’ve seen the vintage, 1960’s style above, so let’s take a look at Ali’s signature through the years.
As you can see, the size, quickness, and legibility of Ali’s signature changed a lot over time. Having any autograph from The Greatest is certainly special, but it’s obvious that an earlier style signature is that much more impressive! Again, we do not often come across these 1960’s style signature, and when we do, we simply have to add it to our collection! This incredible signed photo comes with a letter of authenticity from JSA.
