Rare Elvis Presley Signed Autograph Display, 1959 US Army. JSA
"The King" Serving in the US Army!
In the 1950’s, Elvis Presley paved the way for rock n’ roll music, and his influence shocked the world, perhaps a little too much! Much like the Beatles during the British Invasion of the 1960’s, Elvis’s music and style was not for everyone. Young generations loved him, but older Americans not so much. The type of music he played and 'the way he shook his hips' was extremely controversial at the time. So, when he was drafted to the US Army in the late 1950’s, older generations celebrated that the “negative” influence would be out of American Pop Culture.
Offered here is a gorgeous Elvis Presley autograph during his Military service in Europe in 1959! Elvis’s iconic signature is presented on an original program from a famous French Cabaret show, “Folies Légères”. It comes with the Letter of Provenance from the lucky husband and wife couple who obtained The King's autograph, and they recount the amazing story of how and when they met Elvis. The autograph is large and pronounced, a simply stunning example. If you collect Elvis autographs, then you realize an unpersonalized example can be very tough to find, especially on a mint condition program like this. We’ve framed everything with a classic image of Elvis playing the guitar in his US Army uniform to complete the perfect display!
Of course, after serving in Europe, Elvis would return to the United States as the King of Rock n’ Roll and become one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th Century. Unfortunately, due to his early passing in 1977 at age 42, there is a very limited supply of authentic autographs in circulation, and those that we usually find are presented in poor condition with personalized inscriptions. Rarely do we come across such a gorgeous example with a great story! Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from JSA .
