Rare Albert G Spalding Signed Autograph Display, Inscribed 1915. Auto PSA 8
We are all aware of Albert Spalding's contributions to the world of sports, especially baseball, and true baseball fan's are certainly aware of this original Hall of Famer!
Before creating A.G. Spalding sporting goods company, Albert Goodwill Spalding was a Major League pitcher and manager in the mid-late 1800's. After retirement, Spalding remained active with the Chicago White Stockings as President and part-owner. He later went on to organize the National League and wrote the first set of Official Baseball Rules. Spalding was able to use his reputation and influence to have his line of sporting equipment placed in the hands of Major League baseball clubs and eventually he scaled it to the mass public.
Offered here is a rare display featuring Spalding's signature, inscribed "With My Compliments" and dated "New York, 1911". Spalding's signature is especially rare, having passed in 1915, long before his posthumous induction into the Hall of Fame's inaugural ceremony in 1939. This is just the second autograph we've owned from the baseball pioneer, he is that tough, and absolutely necessary for any Hall of Fame Collection. The autograph is graded 8 and has been carefully removed from the PSA/DNA slab for framing purposes... the PSA/DNA authentication ticket has been affixed to the back of the frame.
