Oscar Robertson 1961 Fleer #36 Rookie, Centered. PSA 6 EX MT
The Big O!
Just in time for the NBA Finals, we recently acquired one the most iconic basketball cards in the entire hobby… the 1961 Fleer Oscar Robertson Rookie! The ‘61 Fleer set is basketball’s most coveted issue, as it not only contains The Big O’s true rookie, but also features rookies Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain.
Robertson’s 1961 season was nothing short of spectacular, as he finished one assist shy of a triple-double and would go on to win Rookie of the Year. The rest, as they say, is history, with Oscar putting together a Hall of Fame career as one of the greatest all around players to ever live.
This gorgeous Oscar Robertson rookie features bold colors and great centering. The closeup image of Robertson is crystal clear, which is unusual for cards from this era. Generally the images used on cards can be a little grainy or blurry, but this image almost has the clarity of a Type 1 photograph!
According to PSA’s population report, there are less than 1,000 known graded specimens in the entire hobby, and this particular card, graded EX – MT, features incredible eye appeal for one of the hobby’s most coveted cards!
