If you love Las Vegas--especially the Vegas of old-- this original movie poster is a must. It was filmed on location with the infamous Rat Pack stars Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford and Angie Dickinson, as well as stars Richard Conte, Caesar Romero and Norman Fell. Even Shirley MacLaine, Red Skelton and George Raft appeared in this famous flick that has now taken on "cult" status.
The plan was simple : this band of wanna-be outlaws would actually rob the five biggest casinos in Vegas - the Sands, Sahara, Desert Inn, Flamingo and Riviera. Simple enough, right ? Well not so much and so we leave the ending to you. We love the caption on the poster : "Nobody else would have dared it because nobody would have the nerve! Just Danny Ocean and his 11 pals". When originally told about the plot of the movie, Sinatra was quoted as saying " forget the plot, let's pull the job ".
The ending differs from the recent version starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon but this original cult-classic certainly deserves viewing---especially if you have not yet seen it .This was is Old Vegas and it conjures up some wonderful memories and images of that unique period when the town was not as "corporate" or so organized as it is today (well maybe it was "organized" actually). In so many ways more fun for sure .
This is not an easy poster to locate, especially in this high grade condition. We especially like the graphics as it features the portraits of the big stars of the day, Sinatra--he was Danny Ocean-- Martin, Davis, Lawford ( JFK's brother-in-law at the time ) and Angie herself ( who played the role Julia Roberts later starred in ).
Condition is simply outstanding, free of any imperfections, and we used a very expensive frame to show it off. The professional art shop also used ultraviolet protected plexiglass to help prevent future fading. Of course it is fully vintage and original from 1960. Popular and highly sought after by movie buffs, the perfect display piece that will attract the attention of everyone who sees it. Just find and nail and a hammer and you're ready to show off Old Vegas at its best !
