Mickey Mantle & Roger Maris Auto 8x10 Photo, Mantle Signed Twice, Framed. PSA
The 1961 season will go down as one of the most iconic years in Major League Baseball’s rich history. It presented one of the games most fear duos in Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, as the two Yankee sluggers battled to break Babe Ruth's single season home run record of 60 HR's (1927). In the end, Maris would eclipse The Babe’s record with 61 dingers to became the single season home run king. Mantle, ridden by injuries late in the season, fell shy at 54. It is the only time in Major league history that a pair of teammates hit over 50 home runs each, and their record of 115 combined HRs that season is still the Major League record.
Offered here is an iconic 8x10 photo of the M&M boys signed and inscribed “Best Wishes”. The signatures are presented in blue ink in the hands of Mantle and Maris, and of course, you will notice that Mickey has even signed the photo twice! The autographs featured in black were printed on to the photo itself.
The photo comes custom framed and double matted, and is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
