Jimmie Foxx Signed 3.5 x 5.5 Postcard
PSA NM-MT 8
Real Photo Post Card of Jimmie Foxx as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics, signed in blue fountain pen. Foxx's large and bold autograph is scripted vertically over a glossy white background, providing deep contrast and stunning eye appeal!
The post card is undated, but based on the Philadelphia A's uniform (specifically the sock style) we can determine the photograph was taken between 1929 and 1931. Coincidentally the great dynasty won three American League Pennants and two World Championships during this time! Foxx was just twenty-two years old in 1929, a year which marked the start of his incredible streak of hitting 30 or more home runs and over 100 RBIs in twelve consecutive seasons!!
The image shows Foxx with one foot posted on the dugout steps, proudly holding his weapon of trade with his first baseman's glove resting below. A definitive, early image of the young slugger who became only the second player in history (behind Babe Ruth) to enter the elite 500 home run club!!
The postcard itself boasts 4 sharp corners and edges, no creases, rips or any other defects, its remarkably clear and the original glossy luster still shines as it did 80 years ago.
Encapsulated by PSA for conservation and unquestioned authenticity, with the stunning autograph grading Near Mint- Mint 8!! A remarkably scarce piece seldom offered for sale.
