Jackie Robinson Signed Autograph Government Postcard, Brooklyn NY 1948. Auto PSA
1948 Jackie Robinson Autograph
Postmarked May 18, 1948, offered here is a Government Postcard signed by the one and only Jackie Robinson! When collecting Jackie, we always look for these early, full-name autographs, where each letter is perfectly legible. Of course we can date the signature with the Brooklyn, New York postmark on the reverse!
Postcards were an extremely popular way of obtaining autographs at the time, and by simply writing to your favorite ball player, you hoped to receive an autograph in return. In this case, the lucky fan couldn’t have picked a better time to receive a gorgeous Jackie autograph.
In 1948, the Brooklyn Dodger Hall of Famer was fresh off of his 1947 groundbreaking Major League debut and Inaugural Rookie of the Year Award. Of course, he would follow up the next season (1949) with the National League MVP Award!
This is vintage Golden Age baseball collecting at its finest, from one of America’s greatest heroes!
