Buzz Aldrin Signed 16x20 Photo. NASA Apollo 11 Man on the Moon. PSA
The Eagle Has Landed!
The Apollo 11 Lunar Landing is one of the most storied accomplishments in United States History, and is still celebrated as such over 50 years since launch. Today, sending rockets and people into space is almost commonplace. In fact, just this past year, NASA sent a rover to Mars to search for signs of ancient life! But in the 1960's, space exploration was in its early stages, and this nascent science and the Race to Space became an international competition. On July 16, 1969, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins were launched into space, and just four days later, Armstrong and Aldrin stepped off the Lunar Module to become the first men to set foot on the moon.
Offered here is one of the most iconic images in history – an oversized 16x20 photo signed by Buzz Aldrin in bold silver ink. The original photo of Aldrin next to the American Flag was taken by Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969. Interestingly enough, scientists believe that five of the six total American Flags planted on the moon during the Apollo Missions of the late 1960’s – early 1970’s still remain. However, due to the harsh conditions in space, the five flags are most likely bleached white.
Signatures from the Apollo 11 astronaut crew are some of the most sought after and important autographs in the entire hobby, and larger 16x20 signed photos are tougher than the more commonly seen signed envelopes and cut autographs. This is one of our all-time favorite pieces, and the perfect autograph for Space Exploration! Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from PSA.
