Theodore Roosevelt is one of our most requested subjects across all genres of collecting. He is certainly one of the most popular and sought after U.S. Presidents, and while we love signatures and presidential documents, original campaign/inauguration pieces always catch our eye, especially those with such a striking image like this.
Offered here is a gorgeous button and ribbon from Teddy’s inauguration on March 5, 1905. The 3.5 inch celluloid button features an incredibly bold and sharp image of Roosevelt, and it is affixed to the original American flag ribbon and hanger with the date he was sworn in as our 26th President.
While still in the early stages of photography, we cannot stress enough the clarity of this particular button, and the piece’s astounding overall condition. Rarely do artifacts from over 100 years ago remain in such fine condition, and once we saw this piece, we knew we had to add it to our collection!
