This is an official Super Bowl XLVI Flip Coin made by the Highland Mint. Each coin is silver plated and features on the coin are in 24K gold. On the front of each coin is Vince Lombardi Trophy in the center with the team helmets of the New York Giants and New England Patriots to its side. On the reverse is an image of Lucas Oil Stadium, the date and a unique serial number. Each coin measures 1.5 inches in diameter and comes with case, booklet and certificate of authenticity.
Over 100 footballs will be used in the Super Bowl game and to protect against possible counterfeiting every one of them will be “tagged” with a specially-prepared synthetic DNA ink that leaves an invisible-to-the-naked-eye security mark. The sideline pylons and even the coin used for the game-opening coin toss will be marked, too.
